Why We Built This
The travel nursing industry has a transparency problem. Nurses are expected to make career-defining decisions — choosing agencies, evaluating pay packages, relocating across the country — with limited, often biased information. Too many agency comparison sites are run by the agencies themselves, and too many "reviews" are little more than advertisements.
We built Wandering Nurses because travel nurses deserve better. We believe that access to honest, well-researched information shouldn't be a privilege. Our agency rankings are built on a weighted scoring system that evaluates five core areas: verified nurse reviews (30%), benefits and compensation (20%), pay transparency (20%), recruiter support quality (15%), and housing options (15%). Each agency receives a composite score, and rankings are updated quarterly to incorporate new data.
Rankings are never influenced by advertising or sponsorships. Our editorial and business teams operate independently, and no agency can pay for a higher placement. When we update rankings, we publish a changelog so readers can see what shifted and why.
Editorial Standards
Every piece of content we publish goes through a multi-step editorial process. Articles are researched by our team, written by subject matter experts, fact-checked against primary sources, and reviewed by our medical advisory board when clinical accuracy is relevant.
Agency reviews and rankings are based on quantitative data — including nurse survey responses, published benefits information, and pay package analysis — combined with qualitative assessment by our editorial team.
